About the role

This position is responsible for production activities, including safety performance, support equipment maintenance, scheduled and unscheduled assembly, disassembly, inspection, monitoring, and reporting activities.

In this role, you will:

• Demonstrate skills acquired through competency-based training assessments.

• Gain experience and qualifications to improve technical competencies.
• Take on additional responsibilities once suitably qualified and/or trained.
• Carry out downloading error codes from diagnostic systems.
• Identify all components on all machines.
• Capable of general diagnostic and repair of most AC system faults.
• Capable of full system overhaul, including flushing for all components.
• Capable of using Caterpillar VIMS System to its full extent for fault diagnosis and machine health.
• Carry out more detailed diagnosis and troubleshooting on some machines.
• Carry out supervisor tasks, such as using computer databases to look for parts, Tracking parts using JD-Edward. Production reports, or timesheets.
• Implement knowledge of Assembly And Disassembly Machine.
• Plan and schedule assembly.
• Ensure all procedures (maintenance and disciplinary related) are in accordance with Thiess Governance System (TGS).
• Organize people on a job, ensure it flows smoothly, and stays within schedule.

About you

• English skills for verbal communication and ability to read and interpret basic workshop manuals and instructions in English.
• Certificate lll in Engineering-Auto Electrical
• Having 4 years of experience in an apprenticeship program in the mining sector as a heavy equipment electrical technician to handle troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of Dozer, Dump truck, and excavator, etc.
• Having a minimum of 2 years of automotive electrical trade skills as a heavy equipment electrical technician to handle troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of Dozer, Dump truck, and excavator, etc.
• Should have a standard of work output and maintain good quality, with strong business knowledge, flexibility, and problem-solving skills
• Having experience with mobile mining equipment maintenance with all relevant competency skills, as recorded in an apprentice mechanic logbook.
