Customer Service:

• Greet customers as they enter and exit the store.
• Assist customers with their purchases, providing product information and answering any questions.
• Handle customer complaints or concerns professionally, escalating issues to the supervisor when necessary.

Transaction Processing:

• Operate cash registers and other point-of-sale (POS) systems efficiently.
• Process various forms of payment including cash, credit/debit cards, gift cards, and coupons.
• Ensure accurate pricing and coding for items being scanned.
• Issue receipts, refunds, or change due to customers accurately.

Cash Handling:

• Count money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure accurate amounts.
• Balance cash drawer by counting cash at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Maintain adequate change denominations in the cash drawer and request additional change as needed.

Store Operations:

• Assist with stocking shelves, marking prices, and organizing merchandise.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the checkout area.
• Ensure security of all cash and credit transactions.

Compliance:

• Adhere to all company policies and procedures regarding cash handling and sales transactions.
• Follow all health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
• Ensure compliance with legal and company requirements at all times.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience as a cashier or in customer service is preferred.

Skills:

• Strong numerical and mathematical skills.
• Proficiency in using POS systems and other relevant technology.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
