JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing the fire prevention and fire protection program across all of the company's operational areas — ensuring all fire protection systems function optimally, all personnel are prepared to respond to emergencies, and company operations comply with applicable fire-safety (K3) laws and regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Carry out routine inspections of fire extinguishers (APAR), hydrants, sprinklers, smoke/heat detectors, and fire alarms across all work areas.
• Develop, update, and communicate the Fire Emergency Response Plan, including evacuation maps and evacuation routes.
• Establish, train, and coordinate the Fire Brigade (Regu Penanggulangan Kebakaran) and Fire Wardens for each area/building.
• Organize fire drills on a regular basis, at least twice a year, including documentation and evaluation of drill results.
• Ensure compliance with Kepmenaker No. 186 of 1999 on Workplace Fire Response Units, Permenaker No. 04/1980 on Fire Extinguishers (APAR), and other applicable fire-safety regulations.
• Conduct initial investigations of fire incidents and fire-related near misses, and prepare reports with follow-up corrective action recommendations.
• Coordinate with relevant authorities (Fire Department, Manpower Office/Disnaker, external auditors) for audits, certification, and licensing of fire protection systems.
• Ensure all fire protection equipment holds valid certification and calibration, including scheduling regular maintenance.
• Provide basic fire-safety training and induction to new employees, contractors, and company visitors.
• Prepare periodic reports (monthly/quarterly) on the readiness status of fire protection systems for the EHS Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

– Minimum Diploma (D3) or Bachelor's Degree (S1) in Occupational Health & Safety (K3), Engineering, or a related field.

Certification

– Holds a Fire Safety Expert / Ahli K3 Kebakaran certificate (Class D/C/B/A as applicable) issued by the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower or an accredited K3 training institution — or is willing to obtain this certification.

– General K3 Expert (AK3U) certification is an advantage.

– Basic/Advanced Fire Fighting training is an advantage.

Experience

– Minimum 2–3 years of experience in fire safety, EHS, or industrial K3, preferably within the manufacturing/resources processing sector.

Knowledge & Skills

– Understands applicable fire-safety regulations, including Law No. 1 of 1970, Government Regulation No. 50 of 2012, Kepmenaker No. 186 of 1999, and Permenaker No. 04/1980.

– Understands the working principles of both active and passive fire protection systems (fire extinguishers, hydrants, sprinklers, detectors, alarms, compartmentation).

– Able to develop a Fire Emergency Response Plan and conduct fire risk assessments.

– Strong communication skills and able to facilitate fire-safety training/drills effectively.

– Detail-oriented, responsive under emergency conditions, and able to work under pressure.

– Proficient in Microsoft Office for reporting and documentation purposes.

Personal Competencies

– High integrity, disciplined, and proactive in upholding safety standards.

– Able to work independently as well as within cross-departmental teams.

– Possesses leadership qualities to coordinate the emergency response team.

WORKING CONDITIONS

– Works within the production/plant area and requires high mobility to patrol all work areas.

– May occasionally be required to work outside normal working hours during emergencies or drills.

– Must use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate to the area and type of work.

Experience:

• Fire Safety, EHS, or Industrial K3: 3 years (Preferred)

Language:

• English (Preferred)
